There’s been a record-breaking donation to the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic Education Foundation from the 19th annual Director’s Charity Golf Tournament.
The $20,600 cheque presented by foundation chair Tom Dall this week is the most money ever raised from the tournament, which took place at the Loyalist Golf and Country Club and featured 144 golfers.
The foundation helps families within the local Catholic school board who need a hand with financial issues, or unexpected expenses like eye glasses, medical supplies, food, clothing or transportation.
