Prince Edward County council is recommending that one property be listed under the Ontario Heritage act and one be designated as being of cultural and heritage value.
The Cermak Farm Complex at 1071 Royal Road in South Marysburgh, with a farmhouse and barns built in the 19th century, are up for designation.
That means strict conditions would be met and a heritage permit would have to be issued, before any renovation work or alterations can be done to the property.
Meanwhile, council is recommending Camp Picton be listed under the Ontario Heritage act which promotes its cultural and heritage value, but has less stringent conditions for improvements or renovations.
If a property is listed, there are no other requirements needed for renovations, other than the council-approved building permits.
Camp Picton sits on 700 acres and was a Commonwealth Air Training facility in the 1940s. In 1948, it became home to the Royal Canadian School of Artillery.
Today, it is one of the few intact World War II era bases still standing.
