The Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic at Belleville General Hospital is benefitting greatly from a recent fundraiser.
Walkers and organizers of the Gaetane Harvey Memorial Walk raised $14,125, with 29 participants walking about 50 kilometres around the City of Belleville, during the two-day event.
The walk was created by Gaetane’s daughters, after she lost her battle with cancer at age 53, in 2006.
The money will support a number of services at the BGH cancer clinic, including diagnosis, care planning, treatment, follow-up and support programs.
