The Canadian Search and Rescue squadron got planes in the sky and boots on the ground Monday at Canadian Forces Detachment Mountain, in Prince Edward County.
The demonstration simulated a mid-air plane crash and the response by rescue officials. It had several fatalities, with numerous types of injuries.
424 Rescue Squadron Commander Lieutenant Colonel Leighton James says the simulation was in a rural area, where they drop search and rescue members from the sky.
Deputy Sartech Team Leader Sergeant J.P. Benoit says we have a lot of challenges to deal with in Canada.
Achim Rosen is the Chief of the German Rescue Coordination Centre. He says there are a lot of differences and similarities between a German and Canadian response.
Military members from Germany, Argentina, Japan, Mexico, and the United States were on hand to watch as well.
