Quick action from the Belleville Fire Department saved a dryer from going up in smoke Saturday.
Just after 8 yesterday morning, firefighters were called to a Station Street residence where they encountered smoke coming from the side entrance.
Fire fighters made entry into the home and discovered a fire in the laundry room. The blaze was quickly extinguished, and the damage was minimal.
The cause of this fire is not suspicious in nature, but remains under investigation at this time.
