Tyendinaga Township could be home to a new distillery in the not too distant future.
At council on Monday night, a group made a presentation to open a distillery in the northeast portion of the municipality, on Hogsback Road near Marlbank.
Clerk Steve Mercer says the proposal would have owners create wine, rum and whiskey.
He says they would not be a retail outlet, but more of a seller to the LCBO.
Mercer adds they are still in the proposal stages of creating the company and more is expected in the coming months.
