Police and the Ministry of Transportation were cracking down on violations involving commercial vehicles earlier this week.
Officers with Quinte West OPP, Kingston Police and the MTO, inspected 48 vehicles in the Quinte West area on Tuesday, laying 32 charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
The specific charges weren’t released, but investigators say they were related to various infractions for unsafe vehicles, driver documentation and licensing.
More than 50% of the inspected vehicles were pulled off the road until those safety issues are corrected.
