Individual board results have been released from last year’s EQAO testing for students in grade three, six and nine.
In the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, grade 3 students had a slight increase in reading results, with 61% meeting the provincial standard, which was the only increase board-wide.
In grade 3 writing, 57% met the standard, a 4% drop and in math, there was a 3% drop from last year, to 47% achieving the standard.
Grade 6 students saw slight decreases in all three categories, with 67% achieving the reading standard, 62% making the writing standard and 32% hitting the math standard.
And in grade 9, where only math is tested, 76% of academic students met the provincial standard, another slight drop, while 41% of applied math students met the standard, which was the most drastic drop across the board, at 10%.

Meanwhile, the Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic School Board saw increases in all categories but one.
Grade 3 students saw slight jumps in writing and math results, with 74% and 59% reaching the provincial standard, respectively.
In grade 3 reading, there was a significant spike of 7%.
In grade 6, 81% met the reading standard and 45% met the math standard, both increases of 1%, while the writing results were even with last year, as 80% met the provincial standard.
The only drop across the board was a 5% decrease in applied math results, as 46% of students met the provincial standard.
And there was a 5% increase in the academic math results, with 81% of students hitting the mark.
