The Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs met for the second straight night in the NHL pre season. Defenceman Erik Burgdoerfer, who is likely ticketed for Belleville this year scored the eventual winner as the Sens downed the Leafs 5-2. Highly touted goaltending prospect Marcus Hogberg stopped 16 shots in his half game of work. Hogberg will also likely be with the Belleville Senators this year.
The B-Sens open their training camp at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre this weekend. They will play two exhibition games in Laval September 30th and October 1st. Both games will be broadcast on CJBQ.
Yesterday Ottawa Senators General Manager Pierre Dorion announced that top prospect Colin White has suffered a broken left wrist and will be out 6 to 8 weeks. When healthy White could begin the season with Belleville.
