UPDATE: Peterborough County OPP have identified the victim of the collision as Susan Margaret Little of Peterborough, Ontario.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for today in Toronto.
Peterborough County OPP say a 56-year-old woman was killed around 8 o’clock Sunday night when she was hit by a tractor trailer while walking across Highway 7.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident lead to the closure of Highway 7, just east of Peterborough, for several hours overnight.
The highway was reopened at 1 a.m. this morning.
