Belleville’s Market Square served as the backdrop for the annual Take Back the Night rally and march Thursday night.
Around 100 women and men gathered to hear stories of violence, stories of support and to march together in solidarity to end myths around sexual violence.

Carlisie says myths are out there and they are not helpful.
Several groups came together to organize the evening, including the Sexual Assault Centre, Three Oaks Foundation, Trenton MFRC, Slutwalk Belleville, Warrior Women of Quinte and others.

Carlisle says 88 percent of those who experience sexual violence, know their perpetrator.
She says it does not matter what you are wearing or doing, it is about the perpetrators choice to assault someone.
