A Trenton man will stand trial on an attempted murder charge starting Monday.
Forty-five-year-old Shawn Birt was charged in August of 2014 after a violent assault on a woman.
Quinte West OPP responded to a residence on Loyalist Parkway in Carrying Place where they
found the seriously injured woman.
Police say a suspect fled on foot.
Birt will be tried by a judge only. Two weeks have been set aside for the trial.
