Kingston Fire & Rescue will be getting extra reinforcement from an experienced fire serviceman next month.
According to the Kingston Whig-Standard, Kevin Donaldson is expected to leave his position as general manager and fire chief of the Greater Napanee Fire Department and head to Kingston for an October 2 start date.
Donaldson started his career as a volunteer firefighter with Stone Mills Township Fire in 1995, eventually becoming deputy fire chief of that department in 2011.
He then made the move to Napanee in 2014, becoming deputy chief and promoted to chief shortly after.
Donaldson says he is looking forward to being a part of a large, busy community and working with a larger, professional department.
