The month of August was a good one when it comes to construction in the city of Quinte West.
There were 140 building permits issued last month, with a total value of almost $12.9 million.
Those numbers are up from August of 2016, when 92 permits were issued with a value of $10.8 million.
Permits for 30 houses were issued last month in Quinte West, up from 16 in August of last year.
Meanwhile, to the end of August this year, 687 building permits have been issued, with a value
of $87.4 million, down about $5 million from first eight months of 2016.
Howevever, there are plans to build about 50 more homes to this point this year than last.
