Crops in Prince Edward County have suffered quite a bit due to mass amounts of wet weather followed by a dry snap.
Many local farmers, like Lloyd Crowe, the Grain Director for the Prince Edward Lennox & Addington District, are waiting to see what kind of yield will develop heading into the fall season.
Crowe, who is co-owner of Picton’s Reynolds Bros Farms with his uncle Larry, explained the corn and soy bean crops have really perked up thanks to recent rainfall.
Crowe said he and many farmers are hoping for an above average yield, adding they need one more month without an early frost to try and achieve that.
