The Hastings Prince Edward Health Unit intends to get a closer look at the health effects in the area population.
Medical resident Dr. Peter Oglaza told the board of health Wednesday that the study is necessary to get to know the risk factors that impact the health of the population.
Oglaza says the area Statistics Canada data will be analyzed, as well as statistics from other community agencies such as Quinte Health Care, to assist in preparing public health planning.
He says the data will be updated every two years.
