Hurricanes are typically small once they have had a few days over land, and by the time they hit Canada, not much is left.
With the category 5 Hurricane Irma soon bound for land, Quinte News reached out to Staff Meteorologist Kevin Williams to find out if we will feel any after effects of what could be the storm of the century.
Williams says if it did hit eastern Ontario, it would be some time next week, adding this weekend is shaping up to be beautiful.
