A local fundraiser near and dear to our hearts here at Quinte News finished with big smiles and lots of money raised.
The first annual Garrettfest was held at the Strathcona Paper Centre in Napanee (August 27), and was in honour of Garrett Mills.
The 15 year old lost his life, after a soccer net in a municipal park fell on him.
His father, Rock 107’s Buzz Collins (David Mills) says Garrettfest was more successful than he ever could have imagined.

The money raised will go into a scholarship fund for a deserving student at Napanee District Secondary.
Meanwhile, MPP Todd Smith is looking to make anchoring soccer nets legislation for schools and municipalities. CLICK HERE for more details
