As is usually the case, the issue of sewage treatment in Brighton will come up for discussion at a meeting of council tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.
Brighton council will start the meeting in a closed session speaking with a lawyer regarding its wastewater treatment plant, which has been in the spotlight because of high ammonia levels from time to time over the past several years.
And, council will see a letter from resident Sylvia Reddom who asks if the municipality could face heavy fines over the ammonia issue and when a final fix might be put in place.
Meanwhile, as the game of pickleball becomes more popular, municipalities are having to think about creating
more courts for the miniature indoor or outdoor tennis game to be played on.
And, decisions on pickleball courts will be before council in Brighton.
Parks and Recreation staff will present options including pickleball court lines on the existing tennis courts at King Edward Park or expanding an existing pickleball court at Hilda Montgomery Park in Gosport.
Staff prefers the expansion in Gosport, suggesting the tennis and pickleball clubs might disagree about playing times at King Edward Park.
Brighton council meets tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 6:30 in council chambers.
