Just about everyone is off work today for the Labour Day holiday, but that’s not the case as far as the Tweed Fire Department is concerned.
Firefighters have been out to two different fire calls this morning (Monday) in rural Tweed.
The first came at 6:30 this morning, when a house on Stoco Road was reported to be filling with smoke.
There was no actual fire at the house, and no one was injured. An investigation was underway to determine the cause of the smoke.
The second came shortly before 10 this morning when a shed caught fire on Highway 37, near Actinolite, just south of Highway 7.
