The Wellington Dukes of the Ontario Junior Hockey League are pleased to announce the signing of two OHL Flint Firebirds draft picks.
Eric Uba is a 2000 birth-year forward who played his minor hockey with his hometown Kitchener Jr. Rangers AAA program. Last season he played with the Ayr Centennials of the PJCHL and helped them win the Schmalz Cup.
Jeffrey Burridge is a 2001 birth-year forward who played last year with his hometown London Jr. Knights AAA Minor Midget program. He also was called up for a pair of games by the Junior B London Nationals and recorded an assist.
Dukes General Manager/Associate Coach Ryan Woodward had this to say about his latest signings:
“Eric is a dynamic forward with tremendous speed. He has an excellent release and high hockey IQ; we expect him to have an immediate impact on our group offensively. Jeff is a prototypical power-forward; he is a workhorse winger with size and speed. Jeff is strong along the wall, can score off the rush and plays a heavy 200-foot game. We are thrilled to welcome him and the Burridge family to Wellington.”
