A surge in residential builds has led to a significant jump in August construction value numbers in Prince Edward County.
The County’s building department issued 142 permits last month, at a total value of just under $15 million.
In August last year, only 113 permits were issued, with a value of just under $9 million.
To date this year, 707 permits have been issued at a value of more than $81 million, while last year 597 permits were issued within the same time frame, with a value of a little more than $53 million.
