A Belleville woman has received a national medal for her volunteer work with the Navy League of Canada over a number of decades.
Lisa Allen received the Governor General of Canada Sovereign’s Medal for “exceptional volunteer achievements.”
Allen spent 30 years with the Navy League of Canada.
She was with cadet administration and held the office of National Vice President.
Mayor Taso Christopher presented the medal at a ceremony at City Hall earlier this week.
