A longstanding motel in Brighton went up in flames overnight.
The fire started around 11 last night at the Presqu’ile Beach Motel, and heavily damaged one side of the ‘U’ shaped building.

The fire started in one unit and spread quickly to several other rooms in the 20 unit motel.
Flames were under control in about an hour. Seven people were displaced due to the fire.
Damage is estimated at at least $300,000. The cause is unknown and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office will be called in to help with an investigation.
