Traffic Enforcement
On August 27th, 2017, at 1:42 p.m. an officer on patrol stopped a car on Dunbar Street. A check revealed that the driver was unlicenced. He was charged with driving without a driver’s licence and the car was parked to avoid a tow. The officer was flagged down a short time later about a car that was driving erratically. The officer located the vehicle which was the same car from Dunbar Street. The officer observed the same male driving except this time the driver was talking on his cell phone. A second traffic stop resulted in the 53-year-old Belleville man being charged with careless driving and using a cell phone. The car was towed.
On August 27th, 2017, at 4:03 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on West Moira Street. The driver was required to drive a vehicle with an interlock device. The vehicle was not equipped with an ignition interlock device. The 31-year-old Picton man was summonsed to Traffic Court on charges of driving while under suspension and operate a motor vehicle with no interlock device.
