The manhunt for repeat offender Richard Vader moved into west end Belleville overnight.
Around 9 last night (Friday), Belleville police received information that the black pickup truck stolen from Stirling-Rawdon around 2 in the morning yesterday (Friday) was seen in the city.
Police spotted the vehicle and gave chase, finding it abandoned along railroad tracks near the
bay around Avonlough Road in the far west end of Belleville. It’s believed Vader ran off on foot.
OPP were also involved, and a K9 unit started a track to the north in the bush leading to Loyalist College.
The track went cold. Police are continuing to patrol the area.
The 33 year old Vader, who has been stealing vehicles and running from police since Wednesday, beginning around Frankford, then being seen in Campbellford, then in Stirling-Rawdon, and now in Belleville, could be armed and is considered dangerous.
People believing they’ve seen him should not approach, and call police immediately.
