A furniture store chain in Quinte West has dealt a large amount of cash for a good cause to a local hospital.
Leon’s Superstore has raised $8,000 in funds to help purchase a new acute care bed at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
TMHF Executive Director Wendy Warner says the financial support from Leon’s is critical, due to the expensive nature of the equipment and the amount of time patients spend in the beds.
Long-time city resident and hospital supporter, Phil Panelas was in attendance for the event and donated his own personal cheque to fund a second bed.
