The province has announced some major funding for two Belleville food producers, which will create 80 new jobs.
On Thursday afternoon MPP Lou Rinaldi announced $1.5 million from the Eastern Ontario Development Fund, for a new production line at Vantage Foods Inc. in the Industrial Park.
Vantage Foods is a leading food processor and distributor of fresh meat products, packaged and supplied efficiently to supermarkets and retailers.
Rinaldi says the company is investing more than $16.5 million, creating around 70 new jobs.

He adds the jobs that will be retained and added will be a huge boost for the future.
Rinaldi also announced $624,000 for Redpath Sugar, to build two new packaging lines.
Redpath Sugar is a leading refiner of cane sugar and provides a wide range of sugar products to consumers, food service outlets and food manufacturers throughout Canada.
Rinaldi says this will help grow the local work force.
Redpath is expected to retain more than 100 jobs because of the announcement as well.
