The Kawartha Pine Ridge School Board has named a new Director of Education.
Dr. Jennifer Leclerc will move up to that role, after serving as Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, since joining the board in 2010.
During her 30 year career, Leclerc has conducted research on components of effective teaching practices, beliefs about ability and disability and other education related topics.
She served as the board’s Interim Director of Education this past spring and also held previous posts with the Durham Catholic District School Board, York University and the Ministry of Education.
Leclerc takes over for outgoing Director of Education Rusty Hick, who is leaving the board to retire, after taking the job in 2009.
