There was a potentially dangerous confrontation near the CN train tracks just east of Belleville’s North Front Street yesterday morning.
City police were called shortly before 11 o’clock to Evans Street where it was alleged a man and woman had argued with a couple of men, with the man threatening the other men with bolt cutters and later a firearm.
When police officers arrived, the group ran away, but police caught them quickly.
A 33 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with weapons dangerous, and breach of probation.
The firearm turned out to be a replica handgun.
