Millions of people are waiting for a major solar eclipse this Monday.
In the U.S. around the state of Illinois, there will be a total eclipse of the sun by the moon for about 2 minutes.
In our part of the world, it’s expected that we’ll see the moon blocking about 70% of the sun.
Appearing on CJBQ’s Lorne Brooker Show, a Professor of Physics and Astrology at York University, Dr. Paul Delaney, says a 70% eclipse can cause serious damage to people’s eyes.
The eclipse will be at its strongest in our area around 2 Monday afternoon.
