There were no promises or contracts signed, but both the mayors of Prince Edward County and Quinte West left a meeting with the provincial Minister of Health with a positive feeling.
Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison says Minister Dr. Eric Hoskins is well aware that Quinte Health Care needs more financial support because of its four sites than does a system involving just one facility.
Meanwhile, Prince Edward County Mayor Robert Quaiff says Minister Hoskins was enthusiastic in his support for a new hospital and medical campus in Picton, hoping the designs for the project would get to the Ministry as soon as possible.
