Three new gun related charges have been laid against murder suspect Brandon Phillip George Baptiste.
On April 2, 2017, Tyendinaga Police charged the 25-year-old Tyendinaga man in connection with the shooting death of 43-year-old Kenneth Ferrill of Tweed.
According to police Ferrill sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Initially Baptiste was charged with first degree murder, pointing a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firm.
On Thursday, court heard how Baptiste faces three additional charges of careless storage of a firearm. He has also retained the legal services of defence counsel Abba Katz.
In June, Baptiste was released on $125,000 bail to three Belleville sureties and a list of conditions including he must wear an electronic tracking bracelet.
The matter returns before the courts on September 21.
