The mayor of Trent Hills says his fight with a new cancer treatment has taken a major step forward.
Hector Macmillan tells Quinte News that trials will begin for a pancreatic cancer treatment called IRE nanoknife.
He had the surgery earlier this year in Germany.
Macmillan says Health Minister Doctor Eric Hoskins notified him this week at the AMO conference in Ottawa.
Macmillan says there is still much to do.
He says getting this in Ontario is a major step forward.
The government announced six months ago that $2.1 million will be invested into the clinical studies.
