A large number of residents around the Bay of Quinte and on the Lake Ontario shoreline are calling for assistance with their flooded properties this summer.
Many residents have experienced severe erosion to their properties.
Quinte Conservation is providing free technical advice and has cut the price of permits by half.
Manager Terry Murphy says owners have to slope the shoreline properly.
Murphy says Quinte Conservation has been busy with the requests for help.
He says it’s a matter of case by case decisions and he doesn’t expect the water to really go down until October.
Quinte Conservation encourages residents experiencing flooding to report their conditions and seek shoreline protection advice by calling the office at (613) 968-3434 or by using an online form.
