Organ donation is never an easy topic, especially at the moment of tragedy, but it is a silver lining for a Northumberland County family.
This past Friday, Cassidey Rae Ouellette was killed in a single vehicle crash, just outside the village of Hastings.
She was just two days away from her 20th birthday, when her vehicle left the roadway and rolled.
Her uncle Rob Milligan (former Northumberland Quinte West MPP) says Cassidey was an organ donor.
He says this is a silver lining in an otherwise tragic event.
Milligan adds that it is important to have it lined up ahead of time, like Cassidey did.
Ouellette worked as a server in Belleville and was a graduate of ENSS. She was going to school at Durham College to be a dental hygienist.
The family will receive friends at Brighton Funeral Home, 130 Main Street, Brighton (613-475-2121) on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, Warkworth on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
Donations to the Trent Hills Fire Department, or the Brain Injury Association Quinte District would be appreciated by the family.
