It appears it is full steam ahead for a wind project southeast of Napanee.
The Whig is reporting that Loyalist Township council approved Windlectric Inc.’s operations plan, for the construction of wind turbines on Amherst Island.
It was originally to be finalized this past May, however township staff were not satisfied with the company’s plans to protect island roadways.
Island residents have had many concerns, including noise, visual pollution, road damage and dust.
Twenty-six turbines are in the plans.
