OPP from Haliburton Highlands and Bancroft detachments, along with paramedics, responded to a violent incident on the shores of Paudash Lake after 3 Sunday morning.
Paudash Lake is southwest of Bancroft in the Municipality of Highlands East.
A young woman was assaulted by a man, suffering facial and upper body injuries
A man suffered minor injuries.
The incident occurred on Sandy’s Lane.
Police had difficulty getting to the scene, having to remove brush and other debris that a man had placed across an entrance to the area.
