The South Hastings baseball league has been around for 84 years and one player in the league has been alive for a good chunk of it.
Thursday night, something special happened in the game between the Shannonville Hawks and Melrose Mud Hens.
The Hawks’ Will Barberstock became the oldest player in league history to record a hit.
Barberstock went 1-1, as the 73-year-old helped Shannonville to a 10-3 win.
The league, which was established in 1933, is one of, if not the world’s longest continuously run baseball league.
