Work to set up the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame continues.
Staff with the City of Belleville, volunteers and donors have been working to complete the project, in time for an induction ceremony September 16th.
President of the hall Dave Mills says they will have all the plaques up in time for this year’s ceremony.
Mills says there is a fair bit of money needed for the startup of the new hall.
He says Parkhurst Transportation, the Vaughan family and a number of local businesses have contributed to the cause. If you want to support it, contact Dave Mills at 613.488.2918
NHL’ers Rob Ray and Chris Valentine, curler and ice maker Shorty Jenkins, weight lifter Joel Carr-Braint, swimmer Paula Stephenson and the 1962 Ontario Senior Baseball Champion Belleville Kenmores will be this year’s inductees.
