A 60-year-old local man died in a fatal collision on County Road 41 in Brighton Tuesday night.
According to OPP Constable Martin Hachey, officers along with paramedics and fire crews were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on County Road 41 near County Road 26 in Brighton around 9:30 p.m. The crash involved a pick-up truck and a farm tractor. The investigation found that the tractor was westbound on County Road 41 when it was rear-ended by a westbound GMC pick-up truck.
The driver of the pick-up did not suffer any injuries in the collision, however the driver of the tractor, David Down of Brighton, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene and had the road closed for several hours during their investigation.
