A Quinte area resident is seeing first hand the massive devastation wildfires are having on British Columbia.
Bill Newman, a Contents Claims Specialist for E-djuster (insurance) is currently visiting some of the most heavily damaged areas the wildfires have hit.
Newman has visited Cache Creek, Boston Flats, Ashcroft and Williams Lake BC, to see what kind of financial damage the fires are having.
From Kamloops, he tells Quinte News the in one instance, several square blocks has been leveled.
He says it is destruction on a massive scale.
Newman adds for the people effected, it is very emotional.
Newman was in Slave Lake Alberta in 2011 and in Fort McMurray in 2016 when the fires spread through those communities.
He says they cannot go some places right now because it is not safe.
Following the long weekend they will be right back out looking at others homes and communities.
