A 26-year-old Picton man has been charged with impaired driving following a collision involving an All-Terrain Vehicle and a police cruiser in Picton.
On July 23, 2017 at approximately 2:50 AM, Prince Edward County OPP conducted an investigation of a collision involving a police vehicle and an ATV on Main Street.
As a result of the investigation, the driver of the ATV, Terry Luis- Gordon Fenemore of Picton has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 mL of Blood, Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Alcohol. He was also charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle with no Plates, two counts of Driving While Under Suspension, and Passing While the Roadway was Not Clear to Oncoming Traffic under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). His vehicle was towed and w ill be held for seven days. His driver’s license has also been suspended for 90 days, per Provincial Statute. The owner of the ATV, 22-year-old Elisha Cassandra Sallans, also of Picton, was charged with Permitting an Unlicensed Person to Drive under the HTA. The two OPP officers in the police vehicle were injured as a result of the collision. The extent of the injuries is unknown.
The ATV driver was later released on a Promise to Appear. He is scheduled for court at The Provincial Court of Justice, 62 King Street, Picton August 16.
