There was a close call for an out-of-town driver and a young bike rider in Warkworth today.
OPP were called to George Street, around 1:30 p.m., to a report of a three year-old being hit by a car.
Constable Steve Bates tells Quinte News, the child rode off a driveway into the path of a grey Kia, being driven by a 74 year-old woman from Florida.
The driver was alert and able to swerve to avoid a serious collision, but struck the child slightly, resulting in minor injuries.
Bates says the parent was in the house at the time of the incident and the child was taken to hospital for assessment, but no charges will be laid.
