The Brain Injury Association Quinte District is seeking donations to help with access to programming.
At the association’s 25th celebration on June 11, VP Kris Bonn said Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison pledged $2,500 and Monday night challenged council to match his donation.
Bonn says the funding is needed for access to transportation and YMCA programming like Aqua Fit, knitting and walking clubs and computer courses.
Bonn says out of the association’s 150 members, 75 reside in Quinte West and funding is needed for resources like transportation.
Council suspended the rules and donated $2,000 to the association.
