Belleville councillors will get a run down of the city’s 2016 financial statements on Monday.
Representatives from the city’s auditing firm Welch and Co will present some highlights, including the city’s total financial assets, liabilities, deferred revenue, municipal debt and more.
A report to council shows Belleville’s financial assets have jumped from $132.3 million in 2015, to $141.4 million last year, but that the city has also taken on a debt load of $102.7 million in 2016, compared with $80.2 million the year before.
The city also has increased its tangible capital assets, worth $592.9 million last year, compared to $571.7 million in 2015.
