The Wellington Dukes are expected to fill the vacancy in their coach and general manager’s office with a familiar face today.
Quinte News has learned that Ryan Woodward will succeed Marty Abrams who left the Dukes after 16 seasons to join the Trenton Golden Hawks three weeks ago.
Woodward was an assistant coach for two years with the Dukes after leading the Picton Pirates to the Ontario Junior “C” Hockey Championship in 2013. He had been hired by the Timmins Rock of the NOJHL in May but parted company shortly afterward.
It’s unclear if the appointment of Woodward is on a permanent or interim basis.
