It’s been a busy couple of days for some volunteer firefighters in Quinte West.
Sunday, there was a house fire northwest of Trenton on Down’s Road, and yesterday
afternoon an old abandoned house went up in flames near the Murray Canal in Carrying Place.
The home is located next to Wellman’s ball fields off Shore Road on the south side of the Murray Canal.
No one was injured in the fire, which started at 3:45 in the afternoon. The cause is suspicious, and the
OPP and Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating.
The wood frame house had been abandoned for several years.
