It was a rockin’ great start to the Canada Day weekend at Zwick’s Park in Belleville Friday night.
“Canada’s Party Band” Trooper, based out of Vancouver, B.C., kicked off Canada 150 celebrations last night in front of a large contingent of over 3,000 fans.
The rockers, led by frontman Ra McGuire, performed their big hits from the 1970s and ’80s on the Mix 97/Rock 107/CJBQ main stage at Zwick’s. They included; “Raise a Little Hell”, “The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car”, “Janine”, “Two for the Show” and “General Hand Grenade”, among others.
Chair of the Belleville Canada 150 Committee Dwane Barratt says preparing for this event was stressful, but ultimately worth it in the end for volunteers and organizers alike.
Belleville police were happy to report that there were no major problems from the 3,000-plus that attended the concert.
