A major Youth Summit is being planned for the Quinte region this fall.
The idea for the Summit was prompted by one held in Stratford, Ontario last year.
Local spokesperson Maddison Ellis says there will be a keynote speaker.
She has been consulting with youth in the region to find out what they think is important.
Hastings County is donating $5,000 to the plan and Tyendinaga Township has donated its town hall for the occasion.
About 150 young people, between the ages of 15 and 25, are expected to attend the session to be held September 29, a PA day, which means a “no school” day for students.
Young people can register online once the website is up and running.
